Motif Diversity
This was my submission for a 'Unique and Symbolic Singapore Themed Graphic' competition organised by Shevron Pte Ltd Singapore and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, to design an illustration that portrays Singapore's culture and its diversities.
I have designed Singapore's multi-cultural ethnic through the three main cultures; motifs in Singapore - Chinese, Malay, and Indian. I found this interesting and unique about Singapore as it has different kind of races and culture. The motif that can be found at the bottom of the Merlion is Indian patter of Mandalas, its body is made up of Chinese Cloud Patterns, and the mane is made up of Malay Batik and lastly the Vanda Miss Joaquim as Singapore's national flower uniting all the motifs together. Among the students from NAFA, I have been shortlisted together with 6 others.
